Leeds United want Charles De Ketelaere but have yet to increase their bid and are still waiting for answers about a potential deal.

The Whites have finally agreed to sell Raphinha to Barcelona after weeks and months of constant speculation.

That sale will give Leeds a welcome boost to their transfer budget and the focus will be on adding more attacking quality.

New arrivals Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinisterra should provide great boost, but Patrick Bamford needs competition up top.

Leeds could go for an out-and-out striker in Arnaud Kalimuendo, but their top target seems be a versatile threat in De Ketelaere.

Leeds United want Charles De Ketelaere

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Leeds are very keen on signing Club Brugge star De Ketelaere.

A £26million fee was suggested but Leeds haven’t really come any closer to bringing the Belgian to Elland Road.

Likened to Kevin De Bruyne and seen as a player who could play as a false nine for Leeds, De Ketelaere is a hugely exciting target.

The problem for Leeds is that Italian champions AC Milan also want to sign De Ketelaere this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has now taken to Twitter to claim that De Ketelaere is giving priority to Milan over Leeds, and the Serie A giants are in talks.

Romano also claims that Leeds made their bid almost two weeks ago and have no increased that offer – believed to be more than €35million (£30million) with add-ons.

Leeds are still waiting for De Ketelaere and Club Brugge to make a decision over his future and aren’t backing out of the race, but also aren’t getting involved in a bidding war.

De Ketelaere, 21, was simply ridiculous last season as he racked up 18 goals and 10 assists.

Thought to be one of Belgian football’s biggest hopes, De Ketelaere can do it all; he can play in midfield, out wide, off the striker and even up front, presenting something of a Swiss army knife.

Leeds are clearly very keen but are having to play a waiting game with Milan still pushing.
