Leeds United want Charles De Ketelaere – and actually see him as a potential false nine should he arrive from Club Brugge.

The Whites have already landed three strong additions as Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristsensen and Marc Roca have all joined.

Fans may now be bracing themselves for a couple of big departures though with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha potentially on their way out.

That would at least give Leeds some cash to work with in the transfer market, and a big addition from Belgium appears to be on the wish list.

Leeds United want Charles De Ketelaere

Leeds have picked out Club Brugge ace De Ketelaere as a potential signing in a deal that won’t exactly come cheap.

De Ketelaere racked up 18 goals and 10 assists for Club Brugge last season.

The 21-year-old proved his versatility by playing in a host of roles; centre forward, second striker, attacking midfield and even on the flanks.

Tall and rangy but also very technically gifted, De Ketelaere looks set for a huge future.

Calciomercato have even called De Ketelaere ‘the new Kevin De Bruyne’, which may mostly because of his nationality but is also down to his huge potential.

Leeds now want the Belgian ace and the Daily Mail claim that a bid of £26million is being launched for his signature.

The Athletic report that Leeds see De Ketelaere as a false nine or secondary striker, pressing him into central roles rather than utilising him out wide.

That will give Jesse Marsch greater flexibility with his tactics, knowing that he has a versatile attacking threat at his disposal.

Those positions are similar to Rodrigo though, and a return to Spain wouldn’t be the biggest surprise – especially as Aaronson also loves to play as a number 10.

AC Milan are also keen on De Ketelaere though so this one won’t be easy for Leeds, even if they already have a role in mind for the Belgian talent.
