Leeds United not only have a new manager in Jesse Marsch, but are set to add a new assistant too, with Cameron Toshack set to reunite with Daniel James.

The Whites took the painful decision to part ways with Marcelo Bielsa on Sunday afternoon, less than 24 hours after losing 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

With just one point taken from the last six Premier League games, Leeds are in a real battle against relegation.

Bielsa’s exit is an emotional one after he changed the fortunes of the club, but Leeds have wasted no time in landing a replacement.

Jesse Marsch was appointed as the new Leeds boss on Monday night, securing a Premier League move after losing his RB Leipzig job in December.

Reports have emerged suggesting that Cameron Toshack will be arriving as Marsch’s assistant boss, with the former Pafos manager heading to Elland Road.

Toshack is best-known as the son of John Toshack, and he had a prominent coaching role in the Swansea City setup.

One of the top talents to emerge at Swansea thanks to Toshack’s coaching was winger Daniel James, who now finds himself at Leeds United.

That means the pair reunite, and it sounds like James will be very excited by that prospect.

When James secured a move from Swansea to Manchester United, he paid tribute to the impact of Toshack.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, James indicated that coaching from Toshack was ‘massive’ for him, believing he was ‘moulded in the Swansea way’.

Fast forward a few years and the pair are now set to reunite at Leeds – something they can’t have seen coming when James saw a move to Leeds collapse in 2019.

Toshack’s input will be key to Marsch anyway, but when you already know a key first-team player so well, this move could be perfect for Leeds.
