Leeds United’s Under-21 side played out a 2-2 draw in Premier League 2 on Monday against Norwich at Thorp Arch – and here are our player ratings, including verdicts on Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw and Sam Greenwood:
Harry Christy – 7
Although slight in terms of stature, he was commanding in his own penalty area. Could do little with Abu Kamara’s brace, but claimed a couple of crosses from set-pieces well. Good solid performance from the 18-year-old.
Cody Drameh – 6
Solid, but not his best. Back at Leeds and back in the 21’s, Drameh may feel he needs a move before the end of the summer. Might have contributed to a mediocre performance, but did not do anything particularly wrong. Just quiet.
Leo Hjelde – 5
Coming back from a recent injury which disrupted his pre-season, the £1m signing‘s passing was noticeably sloppy. Trying to thread passes into midfield, which was encouraged, but misplaced and often intercepted. Capable of better.

Jeremiah Mullen -7
The youngster looked very good, better than his more-experienced partner. Nice passes, good positioning. Intelligent display. He will be a regular in the 21’s this season, and more like this will certainly impress Michael Skubala.
Keenan Carole – 8 (86, replaced by Moore)
The energy of the 18-year-old, playing slightly out of position given he is naturally a winger, was infections. Up and down the left flank non-stop and linking up nicely with Summerville. Son of Seb, Carole looks a real, real talent.
Sam Greenwood – 7
Alongside Forshaw, deeper in midfield, Greenwood’s technical ability is incredibly noticeable at this level. Lovely passing, even if simple. Is he wasted deeper in midfield? Well, he looked very good at a level where he has starred.

Adam Forshaw – 7 (replaced by Gyabi, 45)
Looked a class above in midfield and rarely misplaced a pass. A gorgeous zing over the top for Joseph that might have resulted in a goal, if Joseph was on his toes. Looks sharp.
Crysencio Summerville – 7
Sharp and a bright spark in the first half, before a perfectly-weight assist for Perkins in the second 45. Just needs to sharpen his decision making in the final third, and even his finishing – blazing a shot over the bar from 18 yards.
Mateusz Klich – 8
Playing in his preferred no.10 role, the Poland international was at the heart of anything good Leeds did going forward. The veteran, who is set to stay at Leeds after talks with Jesse Marsch, got the assist for the first Leeds goal.

Sonny Perkins – 7 (75, replaced by Allen)
Quiet-ish first half but got his goal after latching on to Summerville’s pass to finish. Will be delighted to get off the mark for the season, and some nice link-up play throughout.
Mateo Joseph – 8
Took his tally to five goals in two games with an instinctive finish, after Mateusz Klich’s dangerous cross was not dealt with. Slightly quiet otherwise, but his fox-in-the-box style display will certainly see him score plenty this season.
Substitutes in Leeds Under-21 player ratings against Norwich:
Charlie Allen – 6
Northern Irish talent had little time to make an impact. Worked hard, but did little to affect the game. Was handed 15 minutes as a replacement for goalscorer Sonny Perkins.
Darko Gyabi – 8
Perhaps harshly on the bench given the inclusion of Greenwood, Klich and Forshaw after his Derby outing, Gyabi impressed coming off the bench for Forshaw at half-time. Lovely passing, got stuck in. Leeds have got a real talent.
Kris Moore – N/A
