Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United are competing with Frank Lampard’s Everton and David Moyes’s West Ham United among other clubs for the signing of Marseille forward Bamba Dieng in the January transfer window, according to 90min.
Leeds want to sign Bamba Dieng in January
The report published today has claimed that Leeds, West Ham, Leicester City, Everton and Crystal Palace all are keeping tabs on Dieng and want to secure the services of the 22-year-old Senegal international forward in the middle of the season.
Marseille will offer the 22-year-old a new deal, according to the report, which has added that Leeds wanted to sign the youngster in the summer of 2022 and were close to bringing him to Elland Road.
Failed 2022 summer transfer
On September 1, 2022, Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani said on Twitter that he had agreed a deal to sign Dieng from Marseille.

Radrizzani actually asked the Leeds fans to “welcome” the striker.
However, the deal eventually broke down, and the Senegal international remained at Marseille.
According to L’Equipe, the striker, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, actually ‘cried with incomprehension and rage’ after his move to Leeds broke down and he was dropped by his team.
Dieng has made one start and seven substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Marseille so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
