West Bromwich Albion plan to sell Matheus Pereira and Sam Johnstone as Aston Villa and Leeds United eye a summer raid of the Premier League strugglers, as reported by The Mirror.
Norwich City may have bounced back at the first time of asking after retaining much of Daniel Farke’s squad following their relegation in 2020 but the Canaries still had to sell a star player or two last summer, accepting bids from Everton and Newcastle United for Ben Godfrey and Jamal Lewis respectively.
12 months on, West Brom find themselves in a similar position – under pressure to escape the claws of the Championship at the earliest opportunity but knowing two of their most influential performers are unlikely to stick around for midweek trips to Millwall, Luton and Reading.
The Express reports Pereira, West Brom’s brilliant Brazilian playmaker, is a £20 million target for Leeds and Leicester City.
West Ham, meanwhile, have identified the former Sporting Lisbon youngster as a potential Jesse Lingard replacement.
Pereira has impressed Aston Villa too – and by that we mean the club and its supporters.

Goalkeeper Johnstone, meanwhile, has been identified by Tottenham as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Elland Road is another potential destination for the one-time Manchester United youngster.
And, knowing Pereira and Johnstone are likely to push for a move anyway, West Brom have identified the twinkle-toed attacker and safe-handed shot-stopper as players who could swell the coffers and raise funds for some new signings.
