Kamil Miazek has had his squad number taken by one of Leeds United’s new signings amid speculation linking the goalkeeper with a move to Huddersfield Town.

Leeds’ new home shirt went on sale earlier on Thursday, and published a list of their latest player numbers to go with it (official club site).

Only a few have actually changed, with Pascal Struijk moving from 34 to 21 and Leif Davis 40 to 24.

But despite having plenty of other digits still to choose from upon his arrival from Wigan Athletic, Joe Gelhardt will wear the 30 shirt previously assigned to Miazek.

And Miazek’s name is nowhere to be seen.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that Huddersfield were keen on signing the Polish youngster – in a deal that would reunite him with his former Leeds Under-23s coach Carlos Corberan (The Sun on Sunday).

Miazek’s contract was due to expire at the end of last season, although Leeds have yet to release their retained list to the public and it is unclear if he is still at the club.

Curiously, Miazek ‘liked’ a tweet citing Huddersfield’s interest shortly afterwards.

It is of course possible that Miazek has had his deal extended and will be loaned out by Leeds.
