Michael Skubala has said that he would be open to becoming the replacement for Jesse Marsch permanently as Leeds United boss, after his side’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

The 40-year-old is currently working on a caretaker basis, as he saw the Whites perhaps undeservedly take home just a point, after leading 2-0 by the 48th minute at Old Trafford.

While managers such as Andrani Iraola, Arne Slot and Marcelo Gallardo have been linked with replacing Jesse Marsch, Michael Skubala has admitted that he would open to managing Leeds going forward after the positive result against Manchester United.

With the club sitting in 16th place in the Premier League currently, they are in desperate need of a new head coach who can mainly ensure that they do not suffer relegation, just 3 years after a storied return to the top-flight.

It seems like Leeds United’s caretaker manager Michael Skubala is ready to take on that responsibility from Jesse Marsch, after his team drew against Manchester United.

“If I’m called upon, I just want to help the club in the best way I can”, he said after the game, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Should Leeds hire the Englishman?

The short and sweet answer is no.

With Leeds United well capable of getting relegated, it would be naïve for the club to replace Jesse Marsch with Michael Skubala, despite things getting off to a brilliant start under him as his side drew against Manchester United.

Much like Everton did by appointing Sean Dyche, the Whites must bring in a manager who is experienced at dealing with survival battles and can safely steer the club to safety, which isn’t exactly in the current caretaker boss’ CV yet.
