The Daily Mail have reported that Alfred Schreuder was in the Leeds United team hotel ahead of their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The former Ajax manager has been linked as coming in as a replacement for Jesse Marsch in the past couple of days. However, it has been claimed that the Whites have decided not to hire the Dutchman, with Andrea Radrizzani having his fair share of doubts.
The move to bring in Alfred Shreuder as Leeds boss seemed extremely close at one point, as he was in the club’s team hotel ahead of their derby game against Manchester United on Saturday.
Leeds managerial target Alfred Schreuder was in team hotel before Manchester United loss
This comes as an interesting revelation, as after Andoni Iraola, Arne Slot and Carlos Corberan turning down the job, it seemed like the ‘wonderful’ 50-year-old was closest to putting pen to paper.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Alfred Schreuder was indeed in the Leeds United team hotel, right before their defeat to Manchester United at Elland Road.

The Dutch coach was also accompanied by his agent, as they had talks with the club’s executives about taking on the vacancy, whilst also catching up with Erik ten Hag and Steve McLaren.
Leeds need to make a managerial appointment imminently
Sometimes things do not work out in football and Leeds United may not have fancied hiring Alfred Shreuder, despite him being in their team hotel to talk business before their showdown against Manchester United.
But with the club sitting in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone, they seem destined for relegation, unless they appoint a new manager. While Michael Skubala has done an admirable job in the last two games, an experienced tactician is key to save the club from a return to the Championship.
