Leeds United will not be appointing Alfred Schreuder as their new manager and have ruled out a deal for the Dutchman.
That’s according to Sky Sports with reporter Tim Thornton breaking the news this afternoon.
It’s stated that Schreuder is no longer in contention for the job despite holding discussions with Leeds.
Schreuder – hailed as a ‘huge winner’ by Julian Nagelsmann – was spotted at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon as Leeds lost 2-0 to Manchester United.
That left many assuming that Schreuder was the main man for the job and iNews reported that a deal until the end of the season was in the pipeline.
However, Leeds have now decided that Schreuder isn’t the right man for them and no move will take place.
Leeds fans have been voicing their concern over Schreuder after his dismal time in charge of Ajax earlier this season.
Maybe Andrea Radrizzani and co have decided that it’s not worth angering the fanbase right now; maybe the two parties had different ideas for the future.
Either way, Schreuder to Leeds seemingly won’t be happening as the Whites continue their manager hunt.

Who can Leeds United go for with Alfred Schreuder out?
This latest development continues the trend of candidates falling by the wayside.
Carlos Corberan was an early favourite but he chose to stay with West Bromwich Albion rather than make a return to Elland Road.
Andoni Iraola appears to be staying at Rayo Vallecano whilst Arne Slot appears to be sticking with Feyenoord.
A move for Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou seems unlikely but Al Ittihad boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been mentioned.
Nuno has Premier League experience but his style of play doesn’t really fit with the squad Leeds have assembled.
Steven Gerrard is another name mentioned in recent days and Schreuders surprise exit from the race means some surprise candidates could emerge.
