Adama Traore to Leeds United is a transfer rumour that’s beginning to get some traction.
The Spain international is returning to Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer after a difficult half-season loan at Barcelona during the second half of last season.
According to Team Talk, as covered by HITC Sport, Leeds are interested in signing the powerful, jet-heeled winger.
The Whites have already had a number of difficult experiences against the speedy Spaniard in the Championship.
Leeds hitman Patrick Bamford was on the same Middlesbrough team as him once upon a time.
And Bamford told The Northern Echo in 2018 that this is an ‘exceptional’ and yet flawed footballer who can be ‘so hard to play against’.
Bamford said: “His pace, his power and his strength are exceptional. He just needs to work out the other side of the game – not necessarily the defensive side, but he can still switch off when he doesn’t have the ball. His talent is incredible though, and he must be so hard to play against.”
Adama Traore to Leeds United?
Everyone knows Adama – who Wolves want to sell – is a handful.
But what would Leeds be signing if they spend some £20 million on him? Quite honestly, they’d be getting the same player who Bamford described four years ago.
To this day, the Barcelona youth player remains an electrifying player who cannot show his best game regularly enough due to consistency problems, having only managed three Premier League goals in his last 57 appearances.
Adama Traore to Leeds United would excite the Elland Road faithful, because he’s a big name.
But is he a big player? Well, the stats suggest that he isn’t.
