Speaking on the LUFC Fanzone Podcast, Raphinha’s agent has claimed that the Brazilian is now worth a lot more than Leeds United paid for him.
The winger is represented by Barcelona and Portugal legend Deco, and he appeared on the podcast to talk about his client and his own playing career.
On the podcast, Deco was asked to give his opinion on how much Raphinha is worth after six months of brilliant performances in the Premier League, and while he was unwilling to put a number on it, he said that he’s worth a lot more than the £17m Leeds paid in the summer.
“I don’t know. In my opinion I believe Leeds made a very good movement. At that time I never mentioned that Rennes could sell Raphinha for less money than they paid, but my opinion is that his valuation is increasing.
“Of course, when you’re playing football, we know the transfers today, of course we are at this moment with covid and the market will go down a bit, but good players’ valuation will always increase.
“I can’t say how much, but I feel that Raphinha’s valuation is worth a lot more than Leeds paid for him.”

Deco isn’t telling us anything we don’t already know here.
The winger is quite clearly worth more than £17m now, you can see that each and every time he steps onto the pitch in the Premier League.
Leeds apparently thought £17m was a bargain at the time, and he only seems to have improved since joining the Whites in the summer.
The Brazilian will certainly command a big fee if he is to leave Leeds at any point.
