One NBA team president has pitched LeBron James joining his team while speaking with his agent, Rich Paul, on his podcast.

With LeBron James now officially a free agent for the first time in eight years, several teams are trying to land the four-time world champion.

But one of the teams might have an edge, as their president sat down with Rich Paul on his podcast and explained why they are the best fit for The King.

Bob Myers urges LeBron James to join the Philadelphia 76ers

Rich Paul, the agent of LeBron James, invited Philadelphia 76ers president Bob Myers on to his podcast as his guest.

Naturally, the conversation became about LeBron James, whom the Philadelphia 76ers are interested in. Myers kept his pitch very simple.

“If he was here, I’d say I honestly believe this is your best chance to win. You have to decide all the other things that are equally important. It’s his life. He has to play. He has to face the scrutiny of his decision…

“What I would just say is that if it is about winning, let’s talk about this team, because you can win here in Philadelphia…

“He knows the players better than I do – their games. This is a guy who watches more basketball than anybody understands.

“He’s probably watching the game in February that nobody is watching. Not only does he know the guys, he knows how they play.”

Bob Myers says LeBron James can handle his own decision

Speaking further on the podcast, Myers added that James should factor in the Eastern Conference’s ease compared to the West when making his decisions, but that the four-time champion is well-equipped to handle his own decisions.

“Where is it harder to get to the Finals? The East or the West? LeBron’s basketball brain, he has the answer… Whatever place he chooses, all I can talk about is winning and organizational support.

“Let’s be honest. Whatever I say doesn’t really matter to what he does… Whatever he decides, he’s well-equipped to handle it. This isn’t an 18-year-old. This isn’t a 25-year-old. He’s 41. He has grown children, and he’s won championships.”

Back in 2018, the 76ers were one of the teams that pushed to sign LeBron James in free agency to pair him with Joel Embiid.

Now, eight years later, they arguably have a better squad than they did then, and can afford to sign James given that he won’t be as expensive.

On top of that, Myers was previously the GM of the Golden State Warriors during the years they competed against LeBron James in the NBA Finals.

So if any executive knows the value LeBron James brings to a team, it would be Myers, who wants to sign one of the greatest players of all time.
