A former teammate of LeBron James has forcefully pushed back on claims about special treatment in the NBA’s Orlando Bubble.
Debate resurfaced this week after comments suggested the Los Angeles Lakers star had living arrangements that differed from the rest of the league during the 2020 restart.
The allegation quickly gained traction online before being directly addressed by someone who was there, and the rebuttal was immediate and blunt.

Grant Williams claims LeBron James had a house in the Orlando Bubble
In comments shared by NBA Courtside, Grant Williams said: “He had a house on the campus. They had their own set up. Their team was taken care of.”
The suggestion implied that LeBron James and the Lakers benefited from accommodations beyond the standard hotel environment used during the isolated Disney World campus setup.
The NBA’s bubble was widely described at the time as tightly controlled, with players confined to designated areas and lodging.
Markieff Morris denies special treatment for LeBron James
Former Lakers forward Markieff Morris responded on X, writing: “Lol cap. He was two doors down from me! Dog was locked down just like the rest of us.”
“We had a Madden league. We played all the games in his room. We were damn near gaming all night!” Morris added.
Morris’ account paints a far more routine picture of life inside the bubble, describing late-night gaming sessions and identical restrictions. His version directly contradicts the notion that James was housed separately in a private residence.
The Orlando Bubble remains one of the most scrutinized chapters in modern NBA history. While stories continue to surface years later, those who experienced it firsthand are quick to correct the record.
