Gabby Agbonlahor has laughed at transfer claims that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are possibly looking to sign Aston Villa midfielder, Douglas Luiz.
The former Aston Villa midfielder told Spurs on Twitter to ‘leave it out’, as he thinks they have no chance of landing the 25-year-old – if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leaves, they want the Brazilian to come in.
Back in 2019, Manchester City sold their midfielder to then-Dean Smith’s side for £15 million (Sky Sports) following their promotion to the Premier League.
Whilst Douglas Luiz found life tough during the early stages of his career in the Midlands, after players returned from the pandemic during project restart, he looked like a different player altogether.
Fast forward to the present and he recently won the club’s Players Player of the Season and the Supporters Players of the Season.
Both were deserved and he is now a key member of Unai Emery’s side, with Agbonlahor sharing his thoughts on these transfer links.

“Tottenham Hotspur want Dougie Luiz???” laughed Agbonlahor.
“That’s like leaving ya lobster for a toad in the hole? Leave it out Spurs.”
Arsenal also join the party (again)
Last summer, Luiz was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, well, they are knocking on his door again alongside Spurs.
Villa managed to bat away that interest last summer and their star midfielder signed a new deal.
So, those in B6 won’t worry too much about the interest in their player again, especially from Tottenham, who aren’t even in Europe and are at risk of losing star striker Harry Kane this summer.
