Watford’s Sporting Director Cristiano Giaretta has been speaking to Tutto Mercato Web about the Championship side’s friends Udinese.
The two sides have often traded players over the years, as they are both owned by the Pozzo family.
Giaretta was asked about a number of topics, including what he thinks the future holds for in-demand midfield maestro Rodrigo De Paul.
Tutto Mercato Web quote the Hornets director as saying: “He feels like a leader, he is a captain on and off the pitch and for me he is even among the strongest players in the world. We’ll see what will come in the summer. You can’t ignore it, but now there is concentration only on Udinese”.
Now, this should interest Liverpool and Leeds, who have both been linked with the 19-cap Argentina international.

The Athletic said that Victor Orta has been speaking to the Serie A side about the 26-year-old playmaker.
Elsewhere, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool have been scouting the Udinese No.10.
To hear such words of praise for their transfer target must make the Premier League duo even keener to sign him, in our view.

Regardless of what Giaretta thinks, there’s no denying that De Paul is a quality player – why else would Leeds and Liverpool be eyeing him?
The South American has scored five goals and assisted a further three this season, having been involved in 14 goals last term.
Liverpool and Leeds should act quickly before other clubs become aware of the Sarandí-born midfielder’s abilities.
