Southampton have been linked with moves for the Arsenal ace and the Liverpool striker.

Saints legend Matt Le Tissier spoke exclusively to talkSPORT today, and delivered his verdict on the possibility of his former club signing Gunners ace Theo Walcott and Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
Southampton are flush with cash, following the £75 million sale of Virgil van Dijk, and their fans are desperate for them to reinvest the money back into the squad, with just two points separating them and 18th placed Bournemouth in the Premier League table.
It seems as though Mauricio Pellegrino wants to use the cash garnered from the Dutchman’s sale to strengthen his forward options, however, with both Walcott and Sturridge on the Argentine’s wish-list, according to the Guardian.

If the south coast outfit do in fact manage to bring in the England international duo, they would surely be transformed into a far more potent outfit from an attacking perspective.
Le Tissier, who scored 212 goals for the Saints, backed his former club to make some key signings in January, when speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, labelling the potential acquisitions of both Walcott and Sturridge as ‘amazing’:

“We do need some reinforcements. We have had a serious lack of goals. I would think we will be looking for forward players with the [Van Dijk] money. If you could get Daniel Sturridge and guarantee that he was going to play most games for you, that would be amazing because that boy has got some ability. Theo should have left Arsenal a while back. It would be great if we could get him back but I’m not sure if the wage structure at Southampton would allow those guys to come into the club.”
With the opening of the January transfer window just around the corner, this will be one for Saints fans to keep a close eye on.
