Nick Sirianni may have downplayed just how strained things were inside the Eagles’ dressing room last season, according to the latest reports on A.J. Brown’s situation in Philadelphia.

A.J. Brown reportedly asked for a trade multiple times during the 2025 campaign, with the first request coming as early as Week 3. That news follows weeks of speculation about his relationship with head coach Nick Sirianni.

Sirianni publicly dismissed talk of unrest after his sideline exchange with Brown last week, but the new reports suggest frustrations behind the scenes may have run deeper than he let on.

Tensions between A.J. Brown and Nick Sirianni ran high

Bleeding Green Nation reported that A.J. Brown repeatedly voiced his unhappiness with his role throughout the season and formally demanded a trade on more than one occasion.

The first request reportedly came shortly after the Eagles’ Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

The 28-year-old finished the season with 78 catches for 1,003 yards and five touchdowns — his lowest totals since 2021.

The site described Brown as “disgruntled” throughout the year and highlighted several dropped passes, including a key one in the Eagles’ Wild Card loss to the 49ers.

At the time, Sirianni brushed off the heated moment, telling reporters: “We were just talking through something. A.J. wants to win, I want to win.”

A.J. Brown’s future remains uncertain

Philadelphia Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman has publicly backed A.J. Brown, calling him “a great player” and “an important part of this team.”

But comparisons to how Roseman spoke about Carson Wentz in 2021, before ultimately trading him, haven’t gone unnoticed.

Brown is under contract with the Eagles until 2027, but recent developments have raised questions over his long-term future in Philadelphia.

With the offseason now underway, it’s a storyline that will be closely followed heading into 2026.
