Nick Sirianni downplays heated exchange with A.J. Brown
Speaking after the game, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni played down the incident, saying it was simply a moment of frustration in a high-stakes game.
He reaffirmed both his respect and his appreciation for A.J. Brown and how the two have formed a strong relationship over the years.
“I was trying to get him off the field because we were about to punt, and that was really it. I love A.J. I think he knows how I feel about him. I have a special relationship with him.
“We’ve probably went through every emotion you can possibly have together. We’ve laughed together, cried together, yelled at each other.
“We’re both emotional. I was trying to get him off the field. That happens in this game. But I love him.
“We’ve yelled at each other before. It’s nothing new. We’re both passionate and want to win. That’s all it was.”
Emotions run high as Philadelphia Eagles’ season ends
A.J. Brown, who finished with three catches for 25 yards on seven targets, did not speak to reporters after the game but was seen hugging several teammates in the locker room before leaving the stadium quietly.
Philadelphia’s season ended earlier than expected, and the tension between Brown and Sirianni highlighted the emotions of a team that had battled inconsistency in the final weeks of the campaign.
Sirianni, however, reiterated that his relationship with Brown remains strong and is built on mutual respect.
For the Eagles to go from reigning Super Bowl champions to not even getting a chance to defend their crown deep into the playoffs is a massive blow.
