Jose Enrique was having none of the transfer claims that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are going to bid for troubled PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.

The 24-year-old has 12 months left on his PSG contract, and once again, there is drama surrounding the player, with suggestions that the powers that be in Paris want him out this summer because he isn’t going to extend his stay at the Ligue 1 side.

That has opened the door for Kylian Mbappe to leave, but when Enrique read that Liverpool are prepared to put over £200 million on the table for the player, he kindly reminded everyone that ‘we couldn’t even pay for Jude Bellingham‘, as he posted on his Instagram story.

Heading into the summer, it was the biggest area of concern for the Reds and the part of the pitch that was going to receive its biggest makeover.

Bellingham, for a number of years now, has been on the lips of Liverpool fans. Many were adamant that he was going to join, but FSG’s pockets aren’t as deep as Real Madrid’s.

Therefore, it has to be questioned where these suggestions that they can get Mbappe are coming from, which was alluded to by Enrique.

“Come on,” said Enrique. “What is this guy smoking? We couldn’t even pay £100 million for Bellingham and we really needed him.”

Mbappe and Real Madrid

That will be the 2018 World Cup winner’s next destination, it’s just a case of when he dons that famous white shirt.

Yes, there is a lot of noise about him now, but like always, it wouldn’t be a surprise if all of this is resolved and he probably signs a new deal at PSG, that’s how the crazy life works over there.

But if Mbappe has any sense, he heads for the PSG exit door today, joins Real Madrid, replaces the iconic Karim Benzema and then helps himself along to a few Ballon d’Or trophies because he isn’t going to win one at his current club.
