Alex Crook says it’s ‘good news for Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy’ if Kylian Mbappe secures a transfer from PSG to Real Madrid this summer.

If that happens, then it’s ‘increasingly likely’ that Harry Kane stays at Tottenham Hotspur, with Real Madrid being one of the clubs expressing interest in the England captain, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (14/06/23 at 9:50 am).

After signing Jude Bellingham, there is only so much room for Real Madrid to bring in the top stars and it’s obvious, if they had a choice, that they would pick Kylian Mbappe over Harry Kane.

The drama, for the 100th time, is once again kicking off in Paris with Mbappe and his parent club, with claims that officials are simply fed up with the France striker, as reported by Sky Sports.

It seems as though, he either signs a new contract, which he isn’t willing to do, or he is sold this summer. And if that happens, then Madrid is the obvious destination for the man who earns a stunning £893k-a-week.

Tottenham fans will be willing for Mbappe to leave PSG and join Madrid, which then decreases the chances of their star man securing a transfer to Spain.

“Mbappe has told PSG, in writing, that he won’t be taking up that extra year on his contract, if he does allow his contract to run down, then he will be a free agent next summer,” said Crook.

“PSG don’t want that to happen, so I think it’s going to be interesting to see how this develops. It could become the saga of the summer. I don’t think he is Premier League-bound. I think if he goes anywhere, then it will be Real Madrid.

“That’s probably good news for Tottenham and Daniel (Levy). Obviously, Mbappe and Kane don’t fit into the same side, so I think it is increasingly likely now that Kane stays at Spurs.”

Daniel Levy is very lucky if Kane stays

For the goals Kane has scored, for it to contribute to zero trophies is pretty pathetic on the part of everyone at Tottenham.

For the Spurs fans, they firmly believe Levy didn’t push the boat out enough, which would have perhaps got Tottenham the trophies, such as making big moves in the transfer market.

Instead, he has lived off Kane’s goals, and in truth, if the England captain does stay, then he is a very lucky boy because, without him, the club would be in a world of mess.
