Tottenham could soon be getting their hands on the Championship Manager of the Year after Vincent Kompany was nominated.
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Sun – Spurs are interested in the Belgian, and he is also interested in them.
It comes after Tottenham decided to sack Antonio Conte – despite the Italian’s contract expiring in July anyway.
Kompany has already secured promotion to the Premier League at Burnley, and it is just a matter of time until he wins the Championship title as the Clarets sit 14 points clear at the top of the table.
As a result of his excellent debut campaign at Turf Moor, the 37-year-old has now received a nomination from the English Football League (EFL) for Championship Manager of the Year.

Michael Carrick – who sits fourth in the Championship with Middlesbrough – and Mark Robins, currently ninth with Coventry, have also been nominated.
Kompany has guided Burnley to 26 wins from 40 Championship outings so far this season, drawing 12 while losing just two games – it has been a truly phenomenal campaign for the Clarets.
Kompany should reject Tottenham
If Kompany really is interested in the vacancy at Tottenham, we believe he should put his temptations aside for now.
The Belgian has an exciting project on his hands at Burnley, and he will surely be given time to make his mark on the Premier League after building up plenty of credit this season.
Contrastingly, there is less patience at Tottenham right now with fans desperate for some kind of success, after watching proven winners in José Mourinho and Conte fail – Nuno Espirito Santo also did nothing of note.
Therefore, Kompany would find himself under a lot of pressure at Spurs almost immediately, something he doesn’t need at this early stage of his managerial career as he builds up his reputation.
