Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has personally approved the deal for Ben Davies to leave Anfield and join Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that Rangers are set to sign Liverpool central defender Davies.

Rangers will pay Liverpool an initial transfer fee of £3million, according to Romano, who has added that Klopp approved the deal.

No big miss

In our view, Ben Davies will not be missed at Liverpool, who will be happy with the transfer fee that they are getting for the 26-year-old Englishman.

The former Preston North End defender spent last season on loan at Sheffield United from Liverpool.

Davies has not made a single competitive appearance for Liverpool since his move from Preston in 2021.

Liverpool are getting a decent transfer fee for a player they do not need at all.

Now, Davies may not be good enough to play for the Liverpool first team, but he has extensive experience in the Championship and could flourish at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
