Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier is reportedly waiting for his desired move this summer according to reports.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United went through a very frustrating summer at St James’ Park as the club failed to make any significant upgrades to their starting 11 as the club prepared for their fourth season under the Englishman.

Newcastle were struggling to avoid PSR issues before the end of June but the Magpies did eventually sell Yankuba Minteh to Brighton & Hove Albion for a fee in the region of £30 million.

However, the outgoings may well continue with Kieran Trippier’s future at St James’ Park still up in the air.

Kieran Trippier ‘waiting’ for Besiktas move

HITC had reported that Kieran Trippier had informed Newcastle that he wanted to leave the club but no move was forthcoming with Everton one of the sides keen but the transfer deadline passed and the Toffees did not make a move for the English right-back.

Now, according to a post on X from Turkish journalist Sercan Dikme, Turkish giants Besiktas are keen on Trippier and the Englishman is ‘waiting’ for the club to make a move.

The full-back had been expected to leave Newcastle before the end of the transfer window after seemingly falling out of favour under Howe this season.

Tino Livramento has replaced Trippier in the starting lineup and the future certainly looks bleak for the former Tottenham defender.

Dikme reports that Beşiktaş may be one of the sides keen on the English defender, with ‘busy hours’ ahead as their window closes on September 13th.

Losing Trippier would be a big blow for Newcastle

Since moving to the North East, Trippier has been one of the most influential players under the Saudi regime.

After departing Atletico Madrid, Trippier took the plunge and joined Newcastle with the club in a relegation battle and that decision has proven to be a brilliant one.

However, with Livramento coming into the team, Trippier has found himself on the periphery but Howe must hold onto the right-back before the Turkish transfer window slams shut due to the winning experience he has under his belt.
