Don Hutchison has praised Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier on Twitter for his performance against Everton at St. James’ Park on Tuesday evening.

The former Sunderland and Everton midfielder believes that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe should make Trippier the club captain now.

The former Tottenham Hotspur right-back moved to Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

Against Everton on Tuesday evening, Trippier scored in the 80th minute with a wonderful free kick.

The Magpies won 3-1.

Hutchison has also praised Everton attacking midfielder Anthony Gordon.

Kieran Trippier is already a star for Newcastle

In our opinion, Trippier has been a superb for Newcastle, who have given themselves a great chance of escaping the drop after the win against Everton.

The 31-year-old is at the top of his game at the moment, and, as he showed against Everton, he is brilliant with set-pieces.

The England international is very good going on the attack and is defensively sound as well.

Trippier has already made himself a favourite among the Newcastle fans.

And, we do not think that it would come as a surprise if Newcastle manager Howe decides to make the Englishman the club captain next season.
