It has been claimed that Luis Enrique remains in the running to become the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein made this claim on the FIVE YouTube channel on Thursday.

While the likes of Arne Slot and Oliver Glasner have been heavily linked with the Tottenham Hotspur manager job in recent days, it seems Luis Enrique sill remains a contender for the role.

It was reported in May that Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal were interested in swooping in for the former Barcelona boss.

Branding himself as the ‘best coach on the face of the Earth’ via Reuters, he is certainly in the conversation, which would naturally entice clubs into trying to appoint him.

David Ornstein has claimed that Luis Enrique could still become the Tottenham manager, despite the links having died down in recent weeks.

“I guess we keep our eye on Luis Enrique after he didn’t get the Chelsea job and others have been mentioned, like Thomas Frank but I’m not aware of that one being progressed.”

With Tottenham in need of a manager after what has been yet another disappointing season for them, if they manage to bring in Luis Enrique through the door, fair play to them.

The treble-winner is one of the very best and if backed, he could singlehandedly transform Spurs as we have known them.

Even as the manager of the Spanish national team, Enrique managed to take a roster of players that were far from ever looking like favourites but making them seem like a group that genuinely played like a club side.

The 53-year-old is simply an incredible tactician and his ability to ensure that his teams resonate with his footballing philosophy sets him apart from most.

Luis Enrique could do the same at Tottenham and going by how he has managed to thrive whilst managing elite players as well as those that are far from the world-class bracket, he could be tailor-made for the role.
