Clinton Morrison says Mauricio Pochettino will become Tottenham Hotspur manager once more, if Antonio Cone leaves.

The former Crystal Palace striker, who is a boyhood Spurs fan, also spoke about how Harry Kane likes Pochettino and he doesn’t think Antonio Conte leaving would affect the England captain’s future.

There are two contracts being talked about in north London – Conte’s current deal, which expires in the summer, but can be extended.

And Kane’s contract, which has less than 18 months left to run, with no sign that the 29-year-old will sign on the dotted line.

Whilst the mood is slightly better in Tottenham’s camp now, after back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace and then League One Portsmouth in the FA Cup.

Spurs fans know too well that it can change in an instance, with Morrison sharing his thoughts on the possible managerial change that could happen at Hotspur Way, as he told Sky Sports News (08/01/23).

“The Conte one, I don’t think it makes up Harry Kane’s mind because if Conte goes, then I think Pochettino will come in,” said Morrison.

“I think he (Kane) likes working under Pochettino. I do think if Antonio Conte decides to leave, then I feel they will go back in for Pochettino.”

SPURS FANS SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM POCH

The 50-year-old will always be a popular figure amongst Spurs supporters because he brought constant Champions League football to the club and guided them to a European Cup final.

But one word that continues to get thrown about with the club is – trophy.

Tottenham had a trophy-laden coach in the dugout after they sacked Pochettino in Jose Mourinho, yet they proceeded to sack him one week before a League Cup final.

And now they have another big chance with Conte, whilst Poch will play the pretty football, it has to be questioned if it would be a step back if he returned because their chances of winning a trophy would decrease.
