FIFA has just announced that Justin Bieber will co-headline the halftime show at the World Cup final.

The final is set to take place at 3 pm (ET) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, 19 July, with millions watching worldwide.

The 11-minute halftime show will feature performances from Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, and several other artists.

FIFA is looking to support its Global Citizen Education Fund, which provides children with access to education and football.

The initiative has already raised $50 million and has set a target of $100 million, with 11 days until the final.

Bieber has now discussed the unique opportunity to perform at the World Cup and raise money for a good cause.

What Justin Bieber said after FIFA confirmed his World Cup final halftime show performance

Although Justin Bieber is not a diehard soccer fan, he has previously visited Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea.

Bieber has also been to Barcelona’s training ground and is friends with ex-Barca and Brazil forward Neymar Jr.

Therefore, the Canadian singer recognises the importance of the World Cup and is excited to play a small part in it.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber said in FIFA’s official statement.

“I’m grateful to be part of this halftime show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

Meanwhile, FIFA president Gianni Infantino has also discussed the inaugural World Cup final halftime show.

“When it comes to what the world needs, there is nothing more important than education,” Infantino said.

“We are proud to have Justin Bieber joining Madonna, Shakira, and BTS to co-headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 final halftime show in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”

Football purists will undoubtedly be frustrated with the introduction of a halftime show resembling the Super Bowl.

However, at least FIFA has lined up some world-famous performers to make it worthwhile.
