Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp worked with reported Tottenham Hotspur target Mats Hummels at Borussia Dortmund.

According to TZ, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).
Hummels is one of the best central defenders in the world, and the Germany international will be a good signing for Tottenham.
Many Spurs fans, though, may be sceptical. After all, the defender has not been exactly a massive success at Bayern, and he is also 30 years of age.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp worked with Hummels at German club Borussia Dortmund, and his comments in April 2018 will encourage Tottenham fans.
While Klopp said that the defender makes mistakes, he also called him world class.
The Metro quotes Klopp as saying in April 2018 while defending Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren following the Champions League game against AS Roma: “That can happen, it is nothing to do with defending and it’s not about criticism.
“I know what people say, ‘that’s Dejan Lovren – world-class and then one mistake’, yet all the big ones make mistakes.
“That happens constantly. Mats Hummels made bigger mistakes, to be honest, and he is a world-class centre-half. It’s not about that.”

It remains to be seen if Bayern sell Hummels in the middle of the season, and whether Tottenham are able to afford him.
While Spurs do have enough good central defenders, adding the German to the squad would make Mauricio Pochettino’s side much stronger and help in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.
