Julian Edelman has described Bill Belichick’s failure to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a first ballot inductee as “crazy” while offering a candid reaction to the decision.

Julian Edelman opened his comments by acknowledging that he does not fully understand the Hall of Fame voting process.
Speaking on The Arena Gridiron show, Edelman expressed confusion over the situation and added how Belichick should be credited for the Patriots’ dynasty.
“Yeah, I don’t know. I’m not in the Hall of Fame. I don’t know how the voting goes for the Hall of Fame. That’s above my pay grade. Is it crazy? It’s definitely crazy.”
“I feel that both the dynasty and the Patriots were made by all three of the guys, Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady. They all needed each other.”

Julian Edelman went on to describe how Bill Belichick set the foundation for the team’s sustained success.
He then explained how Belichick’s approach to preparation shaped the team culture. Edelman closed his remarks by reiterating his disbelief at the decision.
“Bill was Congress. He used to pass the laws. Tom was the sheriff. He enforced the law. It morphed to where Tom took it to another level.”
“But that template of what Bill shared with Tom daily of how to prepare, how to make the environment as tough as possible so that when you play on the weekend, it’s the easiest, it was all implemented because of Bill Belichick.”
“It’s crazy to me that he is not a first ballot Hall of Famer. A lot of people hate winners.”
Edelman experienced a lot of success with Belichick, even winning a Super Bowl MVP trophy in 2019. So it makes sense why he is so defensive of his former coach.
