Manchester City striker and World Cup sensation Julian Alvarez has chosen former Tottenham stars Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso in his all-time Argentine Premier League XI.
The 22-year old, who signed for Pep Guardiola’s side from River Plate in January has set Qatar alight with his bright displays up front.
So far, the youngster has already bagged two goals for Argentina, despite starting the tournament from the bench.
As displayed in the previous two games, Alvarez has managed to usurp Lautaro Martinez as Lionel Scaloni’s go-to No.9 in the side.
As Lionel Messi and Co. prepare to reach the World Cup final as they are set to lock horns against Croatia, the Manchester City frontman paid homage to two fellow countrymen in his all-time Argentine Premier League XI.
Alvarez picks Lamela and Lo Celso amongst a team of superstars

Speaking to City’s official YouTube channel, Julian Alvarez first explained why he picked the former Tottenham duo in his all-time Premier League XI.
On Lamela, he said, “He is so good. He is a former River Plate player with great quality. As a boy, I watched him at River. I have photos with him as a kid.”
The gifted goalscorer also went on to discuss why he picked Giovani Lo Celso in his team.
“And in the midfield, I will choose one more. I choose Lo Celso, we are teammates [at Argentina.] He’s a great person and a great player.”
While the pair perhaps failed to justify the hype around their names after their arrivals in the Premier League, Alvarez clearly seems to be a fan of the ex-Tottenham duo.
