Manchester United are planning to make a bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Jules Kounde, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that United are going to bid for the Sevilla defender despite also looking to bring in Raphael Varane from Real Madrid this summer.

The report has mentioned Tottenham, Chelsea and Real Madrid as clubs who are interested in the 22-year-old central defender.

Blow for Tottenham Hotspur

United’s reported plan to bid for Kounde is a further blow to Tottenham’s chances of signing the France international central defender.

Tottenham’s new director of football, Fabio Paratici, is already struggling to convince the youngster to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And now United, who finished second in the Premier League last season and will play in the Champions League in 2021-22, are planning a bid for the former Bordeaux player.

Marca reported this month that despite Tottenham and Sevilla agreeing on a deal, Kounde has rejected the chance to move to Spurs.

That’s because the youngster wants to play in the Champions League.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano said only last week that Paratici has been trying to sign the defender for weeks and has a good relationship with the defender’s agency.

However, the Italian official is struggling to convince the player, according to Romano.
