Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly wants to sign Jude Bellingham, but his former coach, Pep Clotet, believes that he would fit perfectly at Real Madrid, as quoted in AS.

According to a report in Bild last month, Liverpool manager Klopp personally wants Borussia Dortmund midfielder Bellingham at Anfield, but Spanish and European giants Madrid are keen on the former Birmingham City midfielder as well.

AS reported last week that Madrid see Bellingham as the heir to Luka Modric.

Clotet managed Bellingham at Birmingham in England, and he believes that the 18-year-old England international midfielder is perfect for Madrid.

Pep Clotet on Liverpool and Real Madrid target Jude Bellingham

Clotet told AS, as translated by TribalFootball: “It is true that signing for Madrid are big words, but he has adapted very well to German football.

“He is very intelligent and I see him with that ambition to win and succeed. When you meet him you see that he has that healthy and innate competitiveness to help.

“He is so focused on this football that he can adapt to different leagues. It is true that La Liga is different from the other leagues in Northern Europe, but Bellingham is also different from the rest.”

The former Birmingham boss added: “Jude is a very complete player, he plays very well in attack, in defence… He is a strong player who, despite his age, has experience in the Champions League and the national team. He is so dynamic that he can be a wild card for the Real Madrid game.”

Liverpool or Real Madrid for Jude Bellingham

In our opinion, Liverpool and Madrid both are very tempting for Bellingham, and it could come down to which club pay more for him.

Dortmund do sell their best players, and the Bundesliga club could cash in on the teenager if they are offered a lot of money, if not this summer, then in the summer of 2023.

Bellingham has scored three goals and provided seven assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund so far this season.
