Tottenham Hotspur-owned Juan Foyth has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Villarreal knocking Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal out of the Europa League.

Villarreal, managed by former Arsenal manager Unai Emery, have got the better of Arsenal 2-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals of the Europa League to set up a final against Manchester United.

The Yellow Submarine won the first leg of the tie 2-1 at home in Spain last week and played out a goalless draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in North London this evening.

Foyth played in the first leg, but the 23-year-old Argentina international defender – on loan from Tottenham – was injured for the second leg.

That has not stopped the youngster, who can operate as a central defender or as a right-back, from revelling in the win on Twitter, as shown below.

Foyth wrote, as translated from Spanish: “Football always gives revenge. We are going to Gdańsk !!! Gdańsk here we come!!!”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was denied by the frame of the goal twice on Thursday evening, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s decision to take off him did surprise ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton.

The Gunners were very disappointing in the first 45 minutes of the first leg in Spain last week and simply could not recover from it.

Arsenal’s season is virtually over, as the Gunners are unlikely to finish in the Premier League top four.
