Arsenal and Aston Villa were involved in a Premier League classic earlier today as the Gunners recorded a 4-2 win at Villa Park.

Goals from Bukayo Saka, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emiliano Martinez and Gabriel Martinelli handed Mikel Arteta a vital three points following a three-game winless streak in the Premier League.

It was a 93rd minute own goal from Martinez – helped by a wonderful Jorginho strike – which effectively won the game for Arsenal, and emotions appeared to boil over as a result.

What’s the story?

Well, Simon Collings of the Evening Standard revealed that Arsenal and Aston Villa staff had to be separated by stewards after the 93rd minute goal which put the Gunners ahead.

Analysts from both sides came to blows in the press box after Jorginho’s incredible strike hit the bar and found the back of the net via Martinez’s head, with staff said to be shouting at each other.

Collings adds that stewards were forced to step in and calm the “commotion” down.

The Daily Mail have since revealed Miguel Molina – an analyst for Arsenal – was actually removed from the press box as a result of the incident, so we would assume he was the instigator.

Victor Manas – Aston Villa’s analyst involved in the clash, who actually used to work for Arsenal – is not said to have been ejected from the media area as well.

Arsenal needed Aston Villa win

Given the relentless nature of Manchester City, Arsenal simply had to win at Villa Park.

Things looked bad when Philippe Coutinho put Aston Villa 2-1 ahead, but Arteta will be delighted to see his side battle back amid a period where their character and bottle has come under the spotlight.

Hopefully, the Gunners can now kick on from this memorable win.
