Speaking to GiveMeSport, Dean Jones has shared an update on Ferran Torres amid links to Arsenal over the past few days.
It has been claimed that Arsenal have an interest in Torres as they look to bolster their attack in the January transfer window, but according to Jones, he’s in no rush to leave Barcelona.
Indeed, the journalist says that people close to the club seem to think that Torres isn’t keen to give up his dream of being a star for La Blaugrana so quickly, but he did add that a move to Arsenal could be on the cards if he’s told he’s surplus to requirements at Camp Nou.

Torres wants to stay
Jones shared what he knows about this situation.
“My personal feeling is that I can’t see him leaving Barcelona yet. It seems like people in Barcelona seem to think this, too.
“Is he really going to give up on a club like that so quickly? Probably not. But if he’s told he doesn’t fit in at all and he has to consider something else, then Arsenal’s a great back-up plan right now.”
Stubborn
Sometimes footballers can be stubborn, much to the annoyance of clubs that want to sign them.
Indeed, in reality, Torres probably isn’t going to be Barcelona’s star man anytime soon. They’s stacked with young attacking talent and he isn’t one of the first names on the teamsheet.
However, despite this being quite an obvious reality, Torres wants to stay and fight for his place at Barca.
It’s commendable that a young player isn’t willing to give up on his dreams that easily, but at the same time, he may be wasting time in a career that is budding with promise.
