Journalist says Spurs have a ‘long-term interest’ in ace, but his price has gone back up now

Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur and their interest in Adama Traore.

The Spaniard is a player that Spurs have been interested in for the longest time, and apparently, Fabio Paratici remains an admirer of the winger.

However, unfortunately for Tottenham, if they were planning a Deadline Day move for the winger, they will have to cough up plenty of cash to get him.

While Traore was reportedly available for around £10m earlier this summer, Jones is led to believe that his price has gone back up above the £20m mark now.

Jones shared what he knows about Traore.

“Adama Traore is someone they’ve had a long-term interest in. His value had dropped to around £15m, maybe even under, about a month back, but it’s been hiked back up, it’s over £20m again now for Adama Traore, Wolves have hiked that back up,” Jones said.

Not worth it

If Tottenham didn’t want to nibble at Traore when he was worth less then £15m, it’s hard to imagine them paying more than £20m on Deadline Day unless they’re in absolute panic mode.

The Spaniard was attracting next to no interest at his initial price point, and now, he’s even less likely to get his move.

With just one year left on his contract, interested clubs will more than likely opt to stay patient and pick him up on a Bosman this time next year rather than splashing huge amounts on a player who was available for almost half the price just a few weeks ago.

Traore will likely be staying at Wolves now unless there’s a dramatic turn of events.
