Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Callum Hudson-Odoi as the winger angles for a transfer.

Almost half of the Premier League have been linked to Hudson-Odoi at this point, but the most recent interesting links have been to Leeds United, Newcastle and Southampton.

According to Bailey, Hudson-Odoi is kicking up a fuss behind the scenes and pushing for a move, claiming that his actions behind the scenes are making wantaway Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, look like something of a saint.

What’s been said?

Bailey shared what he knows about Hudson-Odoi and the problems he’s causing at Chelsea.

“Chelsea, they’ve given Ziyech, Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi a chance, and now they’re saying let’s just replace those three,” Bailey said.

“I don’t know if Hudson-Odoi has had a chance though, he played at wing-back for a while and he did quite well,” The podcast’s co-host said.

“With him there’s a lot of off-field stuff though. If we’re being critical of Cristiano Ronaldo, Hudson-Odoi makes him look like Mary Poppins from what I’m being told,” Bailey concluded.

Is he worth the hassle?

If Hudson-Odoi is kicking up a fuss at Chelsea, you have to question whether or not it’s worth the hassle of signing him.

Yes, he’s a talented young player, but an unsettled dressing room can ruin a football team, regardless of the talent within the squad.

Hudson-Odoi would probably be happy initially after getting a move to a club like Leeds, but if he wanted to move on again eventually, he may kick up a further fuss.

The winger would be a gamble in this way, and there are plenty of pros and cons to weigh up with this one.

Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham may want to tread carefully here.
