Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist Ryan Taylor has been discussing Leeds United and their interest in Cody Gakpo.
It’s been reported for quite some time now that Gakpo is a target for Leeds, and Taylor is led to believe that the Whites are indeed admirers of the Dutchman.
However, signing Gakpo seemingly won’t be a straightforward task this summer.
Indeed, according to Taylor, Leeds are big fans of the winger, but they’ve been put off by PSV Eindhoven’s high asking price for the player.
What’s been said?
Taylor shared what he knows about Leeds and Gakpo.
“Some of the players they have looked at; PSV’s Cody Gakpo, I know that is one they are strongly interested in, but the price PSV have quoted them at the moment has put them off a little bit so to speak. Otavio from Porto is a player they have looked it, they’ve had a bid rejected for him,” Taylor said.

Other options out there
Leeds have been put off Gakpo due to his asking price, but they do have other options out there.
Luis Sinisterra looks set to sign for the Whites in the coming days, and as Taylor says, Otavio is another player that the Whites are in for.
It’s not been reported just how much PSV want for Gakpo, but if Leeds feel as if it is too much, they’re best off looking elsewhere.
The Whites will certainly need a new attacker through the door if they lose Raphinha, but it looks like it won’t be Gakpo.
