Leeds United want Cody Gakpo and they may be particularly appealing to the PSV Eindhoven winger ahead of the World Cup later this year.
The Whites are facing up to life without Raphinha as the Brazilian seemingly closes in on a move away from Elland Road.
It’s unclear whether his destination will be Arsenal, Barcelona or Chelsea, but Leeds are nearing a huge windfall of cash.
Leeds would likely need to go and sign another winger to replace Raphinha and a number of names are being linked with that role.
Leeds United want Cody Gakpo
One of the main rumours surrounds PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo.
Foot Mercato reported last week that Leeds are very interested in signing Gakpo after a stunning season for PSV.
Gakpo racked up 21 goals and 15 assists in all competitions last season, emerging as one of Dutch football’s top talents.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from PSV this summer and Arsenal were favourites to secure a £33million deal for Gakpo.
That does mean that Arsenal could yet go back in for Gakpo if they don’t sign Raphinha this summer.
The Leeds links are continuing as Raphinha nears the exit door, with Dutch newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad offering an update.
It’s stated that Gakpo is expected to have conversations with Leeds in the coming days as he considers whether it’s the right move for him.

Perceivably ‘bigger’ clubs have shown an interest in Gakpo so this won’t be an easy deal for Leeds to pull off this summer.
However, it’s noted that Gakpo could be attracted to Leeds because of the guaranteed first-team football on offer under Jesse Marsch.
Gakpo is likely to be included in the Netherlands squad for the World Cup later this year.
To preserve that role though, Gakpo needs to playing regularly, as he has been with PSV.
Joining a club like Arsenal could lead to Gakpo being in and out of the team, increasing the possibility of missing out on the World Cup.
Gakpo doesn’t want that having made such a strong case with PSV, and Leeds may look to use that World Cup dream to convince him into joining.
