Manchester City are reportedly in talks with Italian side Parma over the sale of Claudio Gomes, with the France youth international close to signing for the Serie B club.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, talks are ongoing between the two clubs over the sale of Gomes, with the midfielder set to become the latest U-21 talent to leave City this summer in what has been a window of massive change for the Premier League 2 champions.
City’s top youth side has endured an intense summer with multiple players leaving on permanent deals, namely Romeo Lavia and Gavin Bazunu to Southampton, and Gomes now looks set to be next out of the door by signing for Parma in Italy’s second tier.
A top talent who has often been likened to Chelsea’s £290,000-a-week superstar midfielder N’Golo Kante, Gomes joined City from PSG at the age of 17, yet despite impressing at youth level and heading out on loan to the likes of Jong PSV and Barnsley, it appears that the youngster’s time in England is over ahead of a move to Parma.

To say City’s youth squads have been ransacked this summer would be something of an understatement, yet for Gomes, signing for Parma and leaving Manchester for good is a great move for the French youngster, who could explode onto the scene in Italy with the Serie B giants.
After all, the midfielder is still very young in his footballing career, and signing for a big club like Parma will motivate Gomes to impress in Italy, where City will no doubt be keeping tabs over the 21-year-old maestro, who could very well become a star in this latest move.
