The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has shared some information with Tottenham and Leeds fans about Marcelo Bielsa’s future.

After Daniel Levy sacked José Mourinho, there was talk about the Argentine potentially leaving Yorkshire for north London.

Danny Murphy discussed the topic on talkSPORT, and the talk has still been cropping up here and there.

Now, however, The Telegraph have shot these rumours down.

Edwards, who revealed that Bielsa is on the verge of a new contract at Elland Road, tweeted the following.

Now, from our point of view, it was always unlikely that the 65-year-old would replace Mourinho at Spurs.

Bielsa doesn’t seem to like the spotlight too much, and by the sounds of it, London certainly wouldn’t fit his lifestyle.

According to The Sun, the ex-Marseille boss rents a modest one-bedroom flat in Yorkshire, near the club’s Thorp Arch training ground.

He also likes to walk to work, with his notes in a backpack, and often stops by at Costa Coffee to run through his tactical information.

Given Bielsa’s status in the game, it feels highly unlikely that he would be able to live such a quiet life on the busy streets of London.

People would surely be asking him for photos and autographs non-stop.

He seems extremely happy at Elland Road.

Surely, there was no way that he was going to ruin his God-like legacy at Leeds to join Tottenham, where there is plenty of fan unrest and boardroom problems.

Hopefully, talk of him leaving for Tottenham – which felt unrealistic anyway – will now die down.
