Everton can now reportedly sign Stade Rennais striker Serhou Guirassy for as little as €10m (£8m), though the Toffees now face interest from Club Brugge in the final week of the transfer window.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Ligue 1 side are eager to offload the 26-year-old forward before the closure of the summer market, and as a result, Rennes have lowered Guirassy’s price tag by quite some margin, with reports last week suggesting that Everton were in talks to sign the attacker for a reported £15m.

This update will come as a huge boost for Everton, however, interest from Brugge could come as a surprise to Frank Lampard’s side, with the Belgian giants in the market for a new attacker, and this new competition could be an annoyance for the Premier League side.
Whilst Guirassy is keen on a move to England, Brugge are one of the biggest clubs in Europe, with the Belgian side once again competing in the UEFA Champions League this season in a group consisting of Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Porto, and this sole factor could result in Everton missing out on signing the striker.
Indeed, Everton finally added to their attacking ranks this week with the signing of Neal Maupay from Brighton & Hove Albion, yet adding a player like Guirassy would fully flesh out Lampard’s striking options for the season, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury record still a major concern.
Everton must ensure they beat Brugge to Guirassy signing

The arrival of Maupay lifts a massive weight off Everton’s shoulders, yet more needs to be done in the last few days of the transfer window, and beating Brugge to the signing of Guirassy will ensure just that with Rennes now looking for just £8m for the 26-year-old.
Whilst Guirassy is keen to move to the Premier League, Champions League football with Brugge is still a huge selling point, and Everton will have to fight hard if they’re to win the race to sign the Guinea international, who is just about to hit the prime of his career.
