Leeds are now ready to splash the cash as they aim to bring Tottenham target Azzedine Ounahi to Yorkshire.
What’s the story?
Well, Leeds have already made a bid for the Morocco international – according to Foot Mercato.
That offer came after La Repubblica claimed that Tottenham had made contact with Angers SCO over a deal for Ounahi, who announced himself to the footballing world in some style with some excellent World Cup performances.
Now, Ciro Venerato – a journalist for RAI – has provided an interesting update for Leeds fans, which states that the Whites are now ready to increase their bid.
As quoted by Area Napoli, Venerato said: “The problem is Angers who are asking for €25m (£22m). Napoli are offering €15m (£13m) including bonuses. Leipzig, Leicester and Leeds are ready to offer more money.”

Clearly, Jesse Marsch still has competition to fend off in RB Leipzig and Leicester, although it should encourage Leeds fans to hear that an improved offer is being prepared.
Ounahi is one of the most in-demand footballers across Europe after helping Morocco become the first African side in history to reach the World Cup semi-finals, and his talent would surely help Leeds in their survival fight.
Leeds can make statement by signing Tottenham target
If Leeds manage to fend off Tottenham, Leicester and Champions League outfit RB Leipzig in the race to sign Ounahi, it would be a real statement.
The Whites currently find themselves in real danger of returning to the Championship as they sit just two points above the relegation zone.
However, if they can still attract a player as popular as Ounahi despite their worrying situation, it would speak volumes about the size of the club, regardless of league position.
Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England, and it’s about time they started acting like it in the transfer market.
