Arsenal could be in the market for a new striker this summer, and Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a name that could be on the radar.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both out of contract in 2022, and Arsenal would surely be open to selling the pair this summer.
If one or both leave, Arsenal would need to find a replacement – and Everton star Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a move.
The Telegraph reported last month that Arsenal had put Calvert-Lewin on their wish list for this summer, though Everton understandably want to keep him.
The 24-year-old hit 21 goals in all competitions last season and has been branded as the third-best striker in the Premier League by Jamie Carragher, behind only Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah whilst ranking above Jamie Vardy.
That’s big praise for the striker, who made only two appearances for England at Euro 2020.
Arsenal may now look to swoop in and sign Calvert-Lewin, who would surely be interested given that his favourite player growing up was Thierry Henry.
Now, journalist Dean Jones has told The Football Terrace that Arsenal have fancied Calvert-Lewin for some time now, and he keeps cropping up in conversations about how to target even if he is never the headline pursuit for the Gunners.

Jones added that Juventus have shown an interest in Calvert-Lewin too, and suggested that the striker needs some reassurances about his role and the direction at Everton after Rafael Benitez’s contract.
“I think it’s worth just considering that Arsenal have had interest in Calvert-Lewin for a little while now,” said Jones. “We’ll have to see whether they are able to pursue that, but a couple of people that I speak to that are well-connected at Arsenal [say that] his name always seems to crop up.”
“He’s never the headline that they start talking about in terms of targets, but his name always crops up, and I think that there’s a lot of uncertainty around what happens with Calvert-Lewin this summer – even Juventus had a little sniff around him at the end of the season, just to see what his situation was.”
“With the way things are changing around Everton, he needs to be assured about how he fits in, how the club are growing,” he added.
