Arsenal and Manchester City are now interested in signing 19-year-old sensation Lucas Kawan from Gremio.
What’s the story?
Well, both Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola are monitoring the teenager – according to Kaliel Doeneles, who works as a journalist for Brazilian news outlet Band.
He claims that Arsenal scouts are watching Kawan, while Manchester City have also been keeping an eye on his performances for Gremio.
The Brazilian is contract to Gremio until 2025, and Doeneles does not mention what type of fee the South American side would demand for their promising prospect.
Kawan plays at right-back for the Brazilian giants, and has made two first-team appearances so far.
The exciting defender has also won two caps for the Brazil Under-20 side.

Arsenal have been particularly active in the South American market since Edu became involved in recruitment at the Emirates Stadium, signing young Brazilian talent such as Marquinhos as well as Gabriel Martinelli.
Manchester City have also focused on signing South American prospects, beating Liverpool to a deal for Kayky while also closing in on Maximo Perrone.

Arsenal’s interest in Kawan comes at an intriguing time.
According to the Evening Standard, Fulham are keen to take Cedric from the Gunners, one of few natural right-back options Arteta has at his disposal.
The Spaniard also has Takehiro Tomiyasu, but is using Ben White, a natural centre-back, in that area so far this season.
To go into detail, the Cottagers are expected to make a formal bid for the Portugal international in the coming days.
Therefore, if Fulham manage to sign Cedric, we could see Arsenal send a bid to Gremio for Kawan.
Only time will tell what happens for sure, so keep an eye on this situation.
