Arsenal majority owner Josh Kroenke has stated that he wants to take the club back to the level of quality and success the Invincibles were at in the 2003/04 season.

In an interview with the Road Trippin’ Show, the American businessman stated his intention to push Arsenal back to greatness after almost 20 years without a Premier League title and over five years without UEFA Champions League football.

Kroenke’s involvement with the club has increased dramatically since the appointment of Mikel Arteta, who has relied heavily on money from the American owners to invest into the squad, with Arsenal spending the most out of any club in Europe last summer.

Whilst supporters largely remain negative towards KSE’s ownership of the club, in large part due to the historic lack of funding and their involvement in the European Super League, Kroenke is eager to amend the wrongs made over the years.

And one way the American plans to do so is by investing in Arsenal, with Kroenke stating that he is eager to take the Gunners back to the level they were at during the famous Invincibles season, with the 41-year-old saying: “We’re trying to reach that level again.”

Indeed, whilst these words might not seem that exciting, it could hint that the Arsenal owners are once again planning a big summer, with the north London club desperate to bring in more quality players to push them back to the top of the Premier League.

The Invincibles are a Premier League squad that will forever remain as one of the greatest of all time, and Kroenke’s public announcement that he wants to take Arsenal back to this level should get supporters excited about the future.

Indeed, trust and appreciation towards the club’s owners is still low amongst fans, yet after last summer’s investment, it is clear that Kroenke is making strides to amend the reputation KSE have in supporters, and his latest comments on Arsenal could be an indicator of another big summer for the north London club.
