Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has raved about Davinson Sanchez for his performance against Burnley, as quoted in Football.London.

Spurs got the better of Burnley 4-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Gareth Bale was the star of the show, as the Real Madrid-owned winger scored two goals and provided an assist.

Tottenham were defensively strong as well and kept a clean sheet, and head coach Mourinho has praised Sanchez for his role in the win.

Mourinho told Football.London: “Even minute 92, 93 two corners, the team defended like it was 1-0 and not 4-0 and this compromise is fundamentally what the team news.

“Then Davinson played a very good game, very dominant, fresh, didn’t play the last match and he was very good.”

How did Davinson Sanchez play against Burnley?

Sanchez is not guaranteed a regular place in the Tottenham first team, and the defender knows that he has to make the most of the chances when he gets them.

The 24-year-old Colombia international central defender did well at the back against Burnley and should be pleased with his performance.

The former Ajax star was quick, made the right decisions at the back, and impeded Jay Rodriguez and Matej Vydra from scoring.

According to WhoScored, the defender had a pass accuracy of 84.9%, won 11 headers, took 93 touches, and made two tackles and 10 clearances.
