Jose Enrique has said that Liverpool should sell Curtis Jones, ahead of the upcoming contest against Sean Dyche’s fired-up Everton side.

The £47,000-a-week midfielder, who seemed to be on the way up after putting in a stellar performance against Napoli in the Reds’ 2-1 win, as pinpointed by Michael Owen in the Champions League has failed to kick on, making just a single Premier League start this season.

And now, Liverpool fan and pundit, Jose Enrique has suggested the club to sell Curtis Jones, ahead of the much-awaited battle against Everton.

Jose Enrique tells Liverpool to sell Curtis Jones ahead of the Everton game

While the English prospect signed a long-term contract till 2027 just 2 months ago, there have been several question marks from the Anfield faithful since then about whether he is at the level to be a key cog in Jurgen Klopp’s side for the future.

Jose Enrique clearly agrees, as he explained why Liverpool, who are preparing for the clash against Everton on Saturday should sell the ‘really good’ Curtis Jones.

“I will not sell [Fabio] Carvalho. I will loan him. The only one I will sell of the youngsters of [Stefan] Bajcetic, [Curtis] Jones, [Harvey] Elliot , [Calvin] Ramsay, it will be Jones. For me, he has run out of time and we [Liverpool] can get a good fee for him”, Jose Enrique said ahead of derby day against Everton.

The ex-Reds defender may be right about Curtis Jones

As Liverpool continue to descend into mediocrity, they must be ruthless when it comes to their rebuild in the summer, which could well mean selling players such as Curtis Jones, as suggested by Jose Enrique in the build-up to their game against Everton.

Injuries, inconsistency and clearly not be favoured by Klopp are factors that beg the question why the Merseyside-based side should not at the very least look to loan him out next season, despite him being a ‘massive talent.’
