Lille forward Jonathan David has commented on his future at the French club amid Premier League interest.
HITC reported that Tottenham were originally keen on Jonathan David as one potential alternative for Dominic Solanke but Spurs completed the signing of the Bournemouth forward earlier this month so the Canadian has remained with the Ligue 1 side.
The Lille forward got off the mark for the French side in the new season and David struck 19 times in Ligue 1 last season and this has led to sides from the Premier League declaring their interest in the forward.
We had reported that Manchester United were advancing in talks for Jonathan David but the Red Devils instead signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Jonathan David speaks out on future
United, Chelsea, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur were among the sides who were understood to be keen on a striker and David was one option that appealed to these sides.
David was emerging as an attractive option for these clubs with the Canadian forward valued at just £30 million this summer.
Speaking to French outlet Canal Plus, David has opened up on his future at LOSC Lille with days remaining before the window slams shut.
“There is still a good chance that I’ll stay at Lille,” David said. “My desire? I am happy here and I am still under contract; you don’t know what the future holds. I still have one year left on my contract. If I can spend it here, that’d be good.”
David has attracted interest from the Premier League and Europe
The Canadian striker has long been a player of interest to clubs in England and HITC is told the player would ‘love the chance’ to play in the Premier League, although there is also interest from Italy, Germany and Spain.
Chelsea, United, Tottenham and West Ham have all had conversations – ranging in-depth and strength about David ahead of a potential summer move.
However, realistically perhaps only West Ham United and Chelsea would make a move for the Canadian forward with United and Tottenham making additions to that depart.
West Ham signed Nicclas Fulkrug this summer, whilst Chelsea are keen on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and this could well force the Canadian to remain at the French club this summer.
